Just a basic set of frequently asked questions!

Q:   What are eyelash extensions?

A:   Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent lashes that give you the length, curl and volume you've always dreamed of!  No mascara can mimic the incredible effects eyelash extensions will give you!  Each extension is applied by isolating one natural eyelash at a time.   The lash artist should create your look by mixing different sizes throughout the entire eye.  Applying from the very inner corners to the very outer corners.  Creating a flawless, seamless, beautiful set of lashes!

Q:   Do eyelash extensions hurt?

A:   No!  Getting your lashes done is actually very relaxing!  A lot of gals fall asleep during the service!  If it is ever uncomfortable, this is not normal and should be fixed immediately!  If you experience any discomfort, please let your lash artist know so that she can fix the issue for you!

Q:   How long will my extensions last?

A:   As long as you want them to!  Most people have 90-120 natural lashes per eye, and shed around 2-6 a day.  Thats 42 lashes per eye every 2 weeks, and 63 per eye every 3 weeks (shedding 3 per day average).  You will lose lashes from reasons other than natural shedding.  Fills will depend on how fast your natural hair grows, personal preference, and how well you take care of your extensions!  If properly applied, and cared for, eyelash extensions can be safely worn 24/7 without damaging the natural lashes.

Q:   What are eyelash extensions made of?

A:   Most eyelash extensions available today are made with PBT fibers, short for polybutylene terephthalate.  It is a type of polyester and considered a plastic fiber.

Q:   How long does it take to have eyelash extensions applied?

A:   A brand new, full set of lashes generally takes about 2 hours to apply.  This is an extremely meticulous service that cannot be rushed.  Speed comes with practice, but there are no short cuts to perfect application!  Fills are typically an hour, but vary depending on the lash artist and salon service menu.

Q:   What happens if glue gets in my eyes?

A:   Adhesive should never get into a clients eyes under any circumstance!  If there is any eye watering or burning during the service, the client should let the lash artist know.

Q:   Will eyelash extensions damage my natural eyelashes?

A:   If the extensions are not applied correctly, then yes, they could!  Each individual lash must be completely and totally isolated, without any lashes getting stuck to each other during the process.  If the extensions are applied correctly, and the correct weight is used for your specific natural lash, then no damage will occur to your natural lashes!
